Family activities for self-catering holidays in UK and Ireland
If you are renting a holiday cottage in the UK with your children then
you will probably be looking for family activities to do on your
holiday. Most children enjoy doing simple things on holiday - what
they value most is spending time with their parents and other family
members. Hiring a cottage by the sea will give your family a chance to
play on the beach - the time-honoured bucket and spade holiday is often
the most successful family self-catering holiday - all children
whatever their ages enjoy making sandcastles, running along sandy
beaches or mucking about in rock pools. All parts of the UK have the
most fabulous beaches.
Other family activities that are popular on self-catering holidays in
the UK are visiting theme parks! Legoland and Thorpe Park are great
attractions for children and renting cottages near theme parks will
give you a chance to go day after day - if you can afford it! Stately
homes and castles can also be popular ways to entertain children on
holiday - most of them have moved away from their stuffy old-fashioned
reputations and now offer lots of things to interest children and get
them involved in their heritage - from quizzes to mazes! National
Trust properties are particularly good at getting children interested
in history.
All holiday cottages are close to activities to keep your children
happy on a family holiday. Whether it is playing in the local park,
riding or pony trekking, a round of crazy golf or a visit to the quirky
local museum there will always be some suitable family activity in the
area.
