We welcome this 4 bedroom (sleeping 8 in comfort) property to Which Cottage this luxury house, Seabank,  is situated near the small village of Benderloch on the West Coast of Scotland. Just 10 miles north of Oban and under an hour’s drive from Fort William this is an ideal base to explore the delights of Argyll and the islands off the West coast.

Seabank Lodge is an architecturally designed, luxury cottage which offers spacious and extremely high quality self catering accommodation with one of the finest views on the West coast of Scotland. It has an outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub in the garden and is a wonderful place to escape to and relax with family or friends. The house is suitable for assisted wheelchair users as it has a double bedroom on the ground floor with an en-suite wheel-in wet room with power shower.

Activities – there are endless activities nearby, from walking in Glencoe to cycling on the island of Lismore. As Seabank is close to the sea, there is an abundance of sea sports available such as sea kayaking, sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving.  In fact, as the house slopes down to the shore of the sea loch, it is ideal for launching small boats or kayaks.

For the more adventurous there is downhill mountain biking at the Nevis range. Any keen ‘Munro baggers’ or climbers will also find ample opportunity to climb some in Argyll. Given the proximity to Oban it is possible to make day trips via ferry to the Mull, Iona and other Inner Hebrides Islands such as Staffa.

Whisky – for the whisky lover, the Oban whisky distillery offers tours and tastings providing a wonderful chance to learn about and appreciate this great Scottish national drink.

Castles – there are lots of fascinating historic Scottish castles in the area, including Dunstaffnage, Castle Stalker and Invereray, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll.

Scottish DancersTraditional Scottish Highland Games – Every August, Oban is the place to be to enjoy one of the best highland games in the Scottish calendar. In the Track and Field events and in the Dancing, many of the competitions are for Scottish championship titles. In the solo Piping, the competitions are for World championship titles. This is a wonderful day out for all age groups and this year it takes place on Thursday 26th August.

Train lovers can also enjoy a great day out on what’s described as one of the great railway journeys of the world – the ‘Harry Potter’ steam train from Fort William to Mallaig passes over the Glenfinnan viaduct and is an exciting and memorable journey.

Wildlife – there are boat trips off the coast for whale and dolphin watching in addition to the superb Scottish Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary which is nearby.

Beaches – just down the road at Benderloch there is a large sandy beach, perfect for relaxing with family and friends. Whether you want an active holiday or just need to escape from the stresses and strains of life, then this is fabulous place to stay!

Fishing – Inverawe Smokehouse, a short drive from the house, provides a wonderful fishing opportunity with stocked lochs and a mile and half of salmon fishing. Lessons are available for all standards from beginners to advanced.
